Rembang, March 29, 2023 – The President Director of PT Semen Gresik, Subhan, gave a public lecture at Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Surabaya about his leadership experiences and tips in business and industry.

Subhan stated that the challenges of business and industry had become more complex with continuously moving, rapidly changing dynamics. “We must be able to adapt to modern, changing times with various technological advancements, either in their theoretical or practical forms,” he explained.

He added that good leaders must be able to direct a company toward achieving a greater aim and lead with wisdom.

In his opinion, a company in its business process had to be able to adapt and innovate sustainably to create added value that positively impacted society.

“Sustainable environmental management is also one of PT Semen Gresik’s commitments in conducting its business activities,” he concluded.

In front of dozens of ITS students, Subhan also shared his personal experience as a leader facing various challenges in business. In his opinion, a leader had to be able to make a decision and devise the right strategies in a complicated situation, as well as set a good example for the employees of the company.

“It is important to employ a helicopter view when making decisions; how we comprehend the system from various aspects thoroughly, from the aspect of the management of human capital, economy, marketing, and field conditions, so that a correct formula or strategy for the company can be found,” Subhan concluded.

Before being installed as the President Director of PT Semen Gresik, Subhan had performed transformations in various aspects during his tenure at PT Semen Tonasa through different priority steps to realize the corporate strategies.

In his role as the company’s leader, the holder of a Master’s degree in Management from Universitas Hasanuddin (UNHAS) was able to lead PT Semen Tonasa to defend its position as a market leader in Eastern Indonesia.
